Veelgebruikte methoden zijn thermische verdamping, elektronenbundelverdamping, sputteren en boogverdamping. Bij thermische verdamping wordt een bronmateriaal verhit onder hoog vacu\u00fcm totdat het verdampt. Het verwarmingsapparaat, ook wel de verdampingsbron genoemd, bevat het coatingmateriaal in een smeltkroes. Zodra de kroes wordt verhit, verdampt het materiaal vanuit de vloeibare fase of sublimeert het rechtstreeks vanuit de vaste fase. De damp condenseert vervolgens op het substraatoppervlak en vormt een dunne film. Verwarmingsmethoden zijn onder andere weerstandverwarming en hoogfrequente inductieverwarming.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:18px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-role-and-design-of-evaporation-crucibles\"><strong>Rol en ontwerp van verdampingskroezen<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Een verdampingskroes is een cruciaal onderdeel binnen thermische verdampingsprocessen. Deze wordt gebruikt om het bronmateriaal te bevatten tijdens het verhitten en verdampen. De kroezen zijn meestal kom- of cilindervormig, maar kunnen ook op maat worden gemaakt. A liner&nbsp;is a small container placed inside the crucible to isolate the source material from the crucible wall. It helps prevent reactions, corrosion, or mechanical damage caused by molten material or thermal stress during cooling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Veelgebruikte inlay-materialen zijn molybdeen (Mo), tantaal (Ta), wolfraam (W), nikkel (Ni) en pyrolytisch boornitride (PBN).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bijvoorbeeld: een Al\u2082O\u2083-kroes met een PBN-inlay is geschikt voor aluminiumverdamping tot temperaturen van 1300\u00b0C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:23px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Materialen die rechtstreeks in een aluminiumoxidekroes kunnen worden verdampt<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:16px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Sommige materialen vereisen geen inlays bij gebruik met hoogwaardige aluminiumoxidekroezen, omdat ze niet smelten of reageren met de kroes bij werktemperatuur. Voorbeelden:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Chromium (Cr)<\/strong>Sublimeert rond 1650\u00b0C, zonder vloeibare fase \u2013 minimale schade aan de kroes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Gold (Au)<\/strong>\uff1aKan direct in een zuivere Al\u2082O\u2083-kroes worden verdampt bij 1550\u20131600\u00b0C.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:11px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Boron (B)<\/strong>Werkt bij hoge temperatuur, maar kan boven 1600\u00b0C de kroes aantasten \u2013 voorzichtigheid geboden.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:9px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Cobalt (Co)<\/strong>: Verdampt rond 1640\u00b0C en vereist geen inlay.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:8px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Iron (Fe)<\/strong>: Reageert mogelijk met metalen inlays, waardoor Al\u2082O\u2083 een betere keuze is.
